Memorial Bench for a wonderful young man

Tragically my nephew passed away suddenly on Wednesday 7th November, 2019 - he was only 34 years old.  He was a lovely lad, adored by his family and loved by everyone who met him, and he has left a huge void in our lives.

He loved to be near the sea and our best memories are of us with him, looking onto St. Mary's Island (Whitley Bay).  We (his family) think it would be a wonderful tribute to him to have a memorial bench where we can go and sit with him, and where his friends could visit and feel just a little nearer to him;  feel a little of the peace he felt there.  Although he loved to go out with his friends, he loved this place as he felt calm and at peace when were we there.  We would just sit and chat and watch the sea.



We have been overwhelmed by the messages of love for David from so many, many people; everyone saying what a lovely person he was, what fun he was and how he was always there for other people.  These messages have been a great comfort to us.

If we are lucky enough to raise more than we need for the bench then we would like to donate anything left over to Mind.

I will post payment receipts for the cost of the bench and whatever is donated to Mind.
