Shawn Duncan had just celebrated the happiest day of his life, to date, his own wedding to the girl of his dreams, Courtney Maertin. Memorial day weekend, the Duncan's said I do on Morse Lake in Noblesville, Indiana and set out a few weeks later to celebrate their honeymoon in sunny Florida. While vacationing and relishing in the happiness that is a new marriage, Shawn began to feel very ill.
After the couple arrived back home from their trip, Shawn visited his physician to find out what could be making him so miserable during his vacation.
After exploring the many different components of what could be wrong, Shawn's physician diagnosed him with Stage III Rectal Cancer.
With the support of his family, and his new wife Courtney, Shawn has made the courageous decision to pursue his own fight. In a few short weeks, Shawn will begin 4 months of chemotherapy, paired with radiation therapy. Following this treatment, Shawn will undergo surgery to remove cancerous tissues from his body.
Shawn Duncan is 23-year-old newly-wed, a new home-owner, a proud entrepreneur, a brother, an uncle a son and a friend. Help us support him in his fight against rectal cancer and regain his ability to continue living his young life to the fullest, celebrating each day as a victory.
