Connacht Hockey Pitch - Misneach Le Cheile

Connacht Hockey a sporting community based in the west of Ireland with a host of club members located in Galway city, Renmore, Kinvara, NUIG, Athlone and Sligo. Our community is extended within the school system and is represented by the Irish Schools Hockey Association, of which it has numerous school members.

Today, we have over 1500 women playing the sport, with two thirds of them aged under the age of 18. They have access to one over utilized facility in Dangan and often play at times when there are no dressing rooms or toilet facilities available to them.

The hockey community proudly represent a unique option for women in sport. It is a non-contact sport which offers a competitive and fun environment, while also tackling mental health and obesity among our members (girls aged between 8 – 18 years old).

We require a suitable facility on the east side of Galway city to be built to support the development of our sport.

We wish to be able to provide our community with a water based pitch - which will cost 1 Million Euros to complete in Galway.
