Brian’s Battle
Donation protected
Brian was diagnosed with cancer of the appendix in January of 2021, completed treatment and entered remission that fall. Unfortunately, the cancer found its way back in the summer of 2022 and began to attack his periotoneum and abdominal area. Brian started treatment again, and worked over and over to beat it back with various cancer treaments.
Last week, it was discovered that the cancer has progresed with a vengeance, and the current therapy is not working. It’s really just making him more sick. Unfortunately, it was the last available therapy he could try. He has opted to LIVE LIFE for the time he has left (God willing, there will still be lots of time) and will be starting hospice at home and treating his body rather than the cancer.
Brian’s wife Holly is taking a leave of absence from her job so she can be there for every moment possible, which means there will be limited income for a while, and they will need to pay large health insurance premiums to keep their coverage. They are grateful to have good insurance, but it’s expensive because of it. Brian’s story has impacted & inspired many people around him, because he has battled this disease so bravely, and with such positivity, spirit, and humor throughout.
He and Holly have a great deal of support and many folks who have asked how they can help. Taking away some financial burdens is certainly one way—and if that doesn’t work, prayers and good vibes mean the world to them.
