Lilla’s Fund

Lilla was born at 22 weeks of gestation on October 8th 2005, a wonderful angel of one pound. She spent her first 7 months and 1 day in the N.I.C.U. of two hospitals; one in Manhattan, the other on Long Island. During these 7 months Lilla had 5 surgeries on her eyes, 4 on her left eye which practically resulted in no vision. On April 17th, 2010, Lilla was diagnosed with a medullablastoma (grade IV) brain tumor. She underwent a craniotomy on April 19th to remove the tumor lasted 9 hours.

Seven years later on Tuesday, November 28th, 2017, Lilla and her family were presented with another tidal wave of bad news, her cancer has returned and she will have to go through another round of brain surgeries and medication to try to beat the cancer. In just under a month, Lilla underwent 3 brain surgeries to remove the tumor and keep the intercranial pressure within her brain under control. 

Lilla returned home with her Mother, Father, sister and two brothers to live her new life, awaiting the next step of treatment. Lilla and her family are waiting for the genetic test results on the DNA of the cancer cells. Until the DNA results are final, Lilla will start on Modified Anti-Angiogenic Metronomic Therapy. This protocol consists of a list of medications some in which that are not covered by insurance. 

Lilla has gained her angel wings on June 24,2018. We will continue the fundraising efforts to give Lilla the destination she deserves; bright, yellow full of laughter and love.
