So…here’s the thing. I have a DREAM. Its not huge, but its mine.
And I need help to make it happen.
I dream of playing baseball in the States! While I would love it to be at a professional level I am enough of a realist to know that is like a one in a million chance. So the next best thing is to get a scholarship to play College / University ball – combining my love of the game with furthering my education.
To do that I have to get myself in front of scouts….and that is where the help needed bit comes in.
From June 18, 2018, I am joining a month long World Baseball Showcases playing tour of the States with a number of other Australian hopefuls. On tour we will be playing roughly a whole season worth of games in just one month, all in front of scouts. It’s my shot at making my dream a reality. And at US$3,500 + airfare, travel insurance and other living expenses for a month, it doesn’t come cheap.
I have trained for years to get to a level to have a chance of catching the eye of a Collegiate team or professional scout. I put in the hard yards with training every week, I work two jobs, I help coach a junior baseball team, I umpire senior games, and at 18 I’ve only just left school.
Do you remember what it was like to be 18 and dream big???
