Cheryl's Medical Fund

Hello all! Some of you may already know and some of you may not, but my sister in law, Cheryl Hammond, has been recently diagnosed with DCIS- Ductal Carcinoma in Situ. It is a non invasive type of breast cancer. Unfortunately, the mass not only has to be removed to understand the full extent of the cancer, but the result is she will need a bilateral mastectomy (both breasts). Cheryl's surgery is scheduled for January 9th. We invite you to join us as we keep her and her family in our prayers, but also to help with the financial burden this will be on the family. The cost of surgeries, the many tests already completed and the ones to come, and the time lost from work for both will be challenging. Thank you for your support.

Greetings! Thank you for your support and all the encouragement that has been provided over the past few weeks. The Hammond family is truly grateful for everything. They have felt stress regarding the next steps of the process, sadness over some of what was diagnosed, but mostly just thankful that they haven't had to worry about paying bills or feeding the family. They are also thankful that Cheryl is recuperating well from the bilateral mastectomy. The next step for Cheryl after full recovery from the surgery will be 30 rounds of radiation over 6 weeks. She is still waiting on testing results to determine the need for chemo. We are really hoping Cheryl will not need chemo. Please keep her and the family in your prayers and thoughts.
