Hi! My name is Bela and I am freshman partnering with The African Library Project to build a library in Kenya. I first got involved with The African Library Project when I learned there are children in Africa who have never seen a book in their lives, let alone held one.
This will be my fourth library following others in Malawi, Ghana and Uganda. For each drive, I collect 1000 books and about $650, for the shipping fees and construction of the library. I have had success collecting books by working with my school, local libraries, and friends. To raise the money I have used birthday money, set up bake sales, and received donations from neighbors, but it has been a challenge to raise enough funds to do all of the drives I would like. Thank you so much for contributing to this cause that means so much to me!
