<div>A rare disease is classified as any disease that affects less than 200,000 people in the U.S. at any given time. This makes each rare disease an anomaly, meaning that they do not have the numbers for research, funding, and cures. These people suffer every day in relative silence. On August 2nd, I will be undertaking "Type-3 Fun", suffering publicly, and riding Flagstaff Mountain over 12 times to climb the vertical equivalent of Mt. Everest. 29,032 FT.

<div>This idea started with my old ski coach, Jack Bailey. He is one of the most influential people in my life, and his son Shane has a rare genetic mutation. During the Covid Pandemic, he attempted to "Everest" to raise awareness for this cause that is so dear to his heart. Next Tuesday I will be doing the same.
