Denise's Battle With Cancer

My name is Denise. I am 52 years old and have 5 children - 2 under the age of 12. In 2011 I was diagnosed with oral cancer and in June I had surgery where they removed part of my tongue, a number of lymph nodes and a salivary gland. Although the oncologist thought he was successful in just a few short months the cancer was back worse than ever. In January of this year I had surgery again where the oncologist took out more of my tongue. One week later before I was even healed from the surgery, he told me that he didn't get it all. He then thought the best course of action was to take out my jaw and replace it with a plate and take more of my tongue and try to rebuild it with a skin graph from my leg. At this point I refused further medical assistance from this surgical oncologist. It did not seem like he had the ability to stay ahead of the cancer. Recently the cancer has spread to the left side of my neck and it has been growing larger by the day. I have contacted a doctor in Los Angeles who is using hyperthermia and low dose radiation. It is an FDA approved cancer treatment but they are not local so my insurance will not pay for it. This treatment does not have the side effects the full dose radiation has and has a very good response rate with my type of cancer. I would like to go to this Cancer clinic in Los Angeles but unfortunately it is very expensive. If I can raise the money I will be able to get treatment at his clinic. I am not ready to give up all hope. I want to be here for my kids and my grand kids. If you can help with even a small donation it would be greatly appreciated.
