We are fundraising to create a state-of-the-art sensory room at Lyndhurst that provides positive sensory input.
Sensory rooms are beneficial to children with sensory processing difficulties, including ADHD, ASD and SPD or those children who are prone to sensory overload. By creating a permanent sensory space, it means we can provide a more tailored and inclusive learning environment for our neurodivergent children which helps them to regulate so they can work more effectively in the classroom alongside their peers.
A sensory room can provide a safe and supportive space to escape the sometimes-overwhelming environment of a busy classroom and allow children to express themselves in an effective and gentle way, while also helping them to manage their own emotions.
