Adam's Hip Surgery/Family Expenses

Donation protected

My name isKathryn and I am setting up this Go Fund Me account for my husband Adam(and our little family). He will  be needing yet another Surgery due to a Staph(Staphylococcus) Infection in his hip.

In 2007 Adam was experiencing pain in his hip which was making it unbearable to walk. He then went to the docors and found out that he had a crack going down the center of his hip joint. He also had fragments of his hip bone floating around in his leg. On June 13 2007 at the age of 20, Adam had his initial hip replacement. Recovery from this was long and painful, but he made it through it like a champ.

Years went by...
In the end August 2014, Adam was experiencing pain in his hip. After several Dr. Appointments and xrays, he then found out that he had a Staph infection in his muscle around his hip.  Two weeks before we were to get married in September 2014 is when his surgery took place. This surgery was to go in and clean out all traces of the infection. This surgery took longer than they expected. The had to go and remove infected muscle tissue, The doctor did not see any infection near his replacement which was a good sign. They were stumped on where it had originated from. After the surgery and  antibiotics everything seemed to be going good! We still kept our wedding date and were married on September 26th 2014.

With him recovering and having lifting restricitions  Adam was out of work. He finally said that he had to get back to work no mater what he had to do, he pushed himselfto look and it was hard to find a job. He had been unemployed until he found his current job in June 2015.

September 2015 is when we had our son Lyndon. He helped us forget about all the stuff that we had been going through!

In November 2015 Adam started noticing pain again in his hip...wasnt a good sign to us. One day after one of his
Dr. Appointments i recieved a call from him at work. He told me that i wasnt going to be happy and that he needed another surgery, which I had figured would be the answer. When i asked when he said I am on the way to the hospital now, they are doing it tonight. I got up there as soon as I could, Yet again there was another infection. They did the surgery same as the last time. This time they werent certain that they would be able to close him up or not with how man times he had been cut open in the same spot. Luckily they were able too. The infectious disease Dr could never find out what or where the infection was coming from or why it came back.

Now in Febuary 2016 he was again in pain. He was now sent to a Orthopedic Specialist at the U of M. Adam is now needing a new hip. Unfortunately before they can replace it they will have to put in a cement spacer. They cannot replace the hip until the infection is completly gone and healed. Adam will be unable to walk on it until he gets the replacement. Most likely he will have to be in transitional care while the healing happens. This whole process could take a minimum of 6 months. Drs are not certain on the time frame. Adam is having to give up his position at his job, due to the recovery process being so long. He is very sad to leave and has become attached to everyone he is working with.

With this being said I am reaching out for help. The donations will go towards medical expenses as well as famiy expenses(rent, daycare, bills, etc.)

Words cannot describe how thankful wewill be for the donations. It will help our family alot. Adam wants to be there  and able to play with his children. (Lyndon and his daughter Arianna). We werent planning on starting our marriage out this way. I know he would love to start living again with no more surgeries.

Every dollar counts! Please help us move on from this and pray that this will be the end of it all, and that he heals quickly!!!

Thanks again for taking the time to read our story!!

Much Love
Kathryn
