COVID Recovery Funds
Donation protected
Ahoy all! First of all, thank you for stopping by. Even if you can't donate, visibility is important, and sharing just takes a moment of your time. Let's get some questions out of the way!
Why?
At the beginning of September, I got COVID-19. (Boo.) However, at the time, I was also attempting to move out of my old place, AND it was the beginning of the school semester.
This is a domino effect of BS, so stay with me.
I got sick, couldn't go to school or work. No work means no income, and I don't get benefits because I work less than part time. All of the COVID-related pandemic relief options are no longer available.
While I was recuperating in my apartment, my catalytic converter got stolen off my car. Again. (Yes, this happened last year.)
Fast-forward to now, with some high-speed footage of me scrambling to catch up on school work, finally finishing moving out of my old place, and a whole lot of NSF fees from paying rent on my old place where I wasn't even staying.
Don't You Have Other Means of Getting Funds?
Well, yes. The problem is, I have less than zero time in which to do it in. Despite working both a part-time job and a work study position, my current scholarship requirements require me to take the equivalent of full time and a half of classes. I get one full day off every two weeks. Oh, I'm a fine arts major, and there is always always always outside class time required for these sorts of things.
Yes, I could also do some freelance design work, but the aforementioned "no time" cuts into that.
The real kicker is that I probably would have been able to stay afloat and ahead of things if I hadn't gotten sick. *insert feeble "hooray" here*
What Will the Funds Be Used For?
First up is paying my bursar's account. I can't register for the spring semester of classes until I clear that out, and registration begins November 7th (in just a few days).
Second is paying off outstanding fees from my previous apartment.
Finally, it's getting my car fixed. While my insurance did provide a rental car, that's only for a month, and that time is up. Part of the funds will also be used to getting an after-market security setup, because I drive a Prius and it's a big target (even one that's 15 years old at this point).
Here's some things that are keeping me going right now:
