Tom's Medical Expenses

Donation protected
What began as slight changes in Tom's vision this spring became double vision by July 4th. With no medical insurance we tried an urgent care clinic and then his primary care doctor in hopes for an answer at a lower cost, to no avail. By July 19th his left eye no longer opens on its own. I had been nagging him since July 4th to insist on a scan and by the 19th he finally decided we could go to the emergency room, the symptoms were finally enough to outweigh the cost.  Finally an answer; Tom has a mass in his brain, near his pituitary gland. It has grown into his ethmoid sinus and is putting pressure on his optic nerve.  He is scheduled for surgery to remove the mass on August 31. Once it's removed they will determine what type of tumor it is and what furthur treatments he may or may not need. We are optimistic that the tumor is benign and that his nerve will come back and he will regain use of his left eye.  He is still trying to work while we await the surgery even though he has a headache that never goes away, he can't see very well, he is nauseated all the time, and feels like he has the flu. I have 2 semesters left of school and am only 1 month into a 12 month internship, which is basically part time income. After the surgery, if everything goes as we hope, Tom will be out of work for at least 6 weeks (best case scenario). Needless to say we aren't sure what the future holds for us financially and we could use help with the mounting medical expenses. If you are unable to help by donating please help with a prayer or help by sharing our fundraiser. Thank you for taking the time to read this and for all your love and support.
