Me and my friend are embarking on an incredible adventure to South Africa next May. We will be participating in a 3 week study abroad field course in South Africa with Dalhousie University's Faculty of Agriculture, in collaboration with Rhodes University's Wildlife & Reserve Management Research Group. During this course, we will be travelling to 2 or 3 national parks, where we will be learning about African ecosystems and wildlife conservation efforts in South Africa through a combination of lectures and hands-on work. As a part of the course, we will be conducting field research on various African species and participating in the veterinary care and conservation of one of Africa's most threatened animals, the white rhinoceros. As both of us are pre-veterinary students who are looking to pursue a career in wildlife medicine, this is a once in a lifetime opportunity for us to get hands-on experience with some of the world's most incredible wildlife and to learn from leading experts in the fields of wildlife medicine and conservation biology. However, this trip costs $5200 per person and therefore we are in need of financial help to be able to participate. We are looking to raise at least 2000$ by August 1 in order to cover our initial deposit to secure our spots on the trip. We are greatly appreciative of any donations given towards our goal!
