Hello friends,

Around two months ago I posted a recent life update post on facebook highlighting the journey God has had me on the past couple of years. For those who didn't read it, I'll give a brief lowdown. After leaving Eastman and then completing my first year at Wheaton, my future at the school was hanging in the balance and my violin plans were halted when my overuse injury revealed itself to be more than a simple case of tendonitis. While my future has never been contingent upon a career in performance, that is where my life and interests were strongly heading around the time of my initial college search. Fast forward to the near-present day and I found myself living and working in a national park of all places over the summer. Through the experience of participating in a summer ministry and learning to wait on God for direction regarding my unknown future, I have been able to see how He uses the scope of our lives to prepare us for the plans He has, not necessarily what we would choose  for ourselves. And the crazy thing is, the more I positioned myself to be open to His leading, the more I found I didn't even want all the same things for myself anymore. God gives and takes away, and I will never begin to understand His ways, but I trust that He puts me in the right place with the right people at the right time. Right now, that place is looking to be Norway. Once I returned home from my summer adventures, I felt called to pursue ministry in some form or another and God placed the organization Youth With A Mission in my path. I recently got accepted into a Discipleship Training School through YWAM. The school (pictured) is based in Skien Norway and has a focus on European missions, which has been something on my heart as of late. Classes commence in January and I will have three months of training before heading out on outreach for the remainder of the six month total. I am needing to raise around 5,500 by the beginning of January and as a broke young adult, that is no easy task. I am trusting that God will provide. I hate asking for money, but the only way this vision can be made possible is with your generosity. I appreciate any amount donated more than I can say. This story is about more than me. I believe that every one of us plays a crucial role in God's story. While this is my part to play for now, the full plot still remains a mystery.
