Welcome to our page! We are the Japan/Far East Asia team from the YWAM base in Oxford, New Zealand. Our team is a part of the Snowboarder's Discipleship Training School! YWAM's mission is: "To know God, and make him known." Currently we are in the Lecture Phase of our school (a 3 month period) in which we are further deepening our relationship with God.
Each week we have been trained by incredible speaker's from around the world, and each week we've covered a new topic and experienced new revelations. We have become equipped individually and as a team to share the gospel with the rest of the world. We are a rad crew who opposes passivity and aims to breakdown strongholds in the lives of others by introducing them to Jesus.
Our time here has strengthened us not only spiritually, but also as a family. Our team is composed of nine members from three different nations, and each member contributes a unique set of skills and gifts. Among us are leaders, photographers, filmmakers, snowboarders, etc. We are a passionate group with a mission to make God known among the nations, specifically Japan and far east Asia.
The time is now drawing near for the Outreach Phase (9 week period) of our school, and we are so excited for what lies ahead! In 3 weeks we will board our plane to Japan to work in the areas where the 2011 tsunami brought destruction. We hope to bring hope and service to the people of Japan in any way we can. After Japan we will travel further east in Asia and assist with university ministry as well as serving in some leprosy colonies.
We are so happy to share our experiences with you and would love for you to be apart of our mission! Our greatest asset is prayer so prayer warriors we will definitely need you during this nine week period. Please pray for safety as we travel together and that God will present us with opportunities to share the gospel along the way. Pray for open hearts and open minds, and pray that our team will continuously seek God's guidance.
We would also love if you considered donating financially. Each of us is responsible for paying $5,700, but as a team our goal is to cover one another. When we assembled as a team, the money was no longer an individual need but a team need. After pooling our money together we are now lacking $14,000. This will cover all travel costs, living expenses, and food. Please donate as you feel led and know that every contribution is valued!
