Help 11 year old fight Cancer

Hi,

As some of you know, I am involved with a great organization called The Foundation for Camp Bob Waldorf which is operated by Jewish Big Brothers Big Sisters of LA.  Thanks to this Foundation, underserved and underpriviledged children are offered overnight summer camp at little or no cost.  Through the summer camp, college scholarship programs and mentoring activities, the Foundation provides underserved children each year with tools, community and support system necessary for success as they progress from elementary school to college.

Last summer, a little girl with a big smile named Angie was chosen to experience this camp.  She was very excited and looking forward to all the things she would be exposed to.  Unfortunately, a week before camp, she was diagnosed with Leukemia.  When I met her at our annual fund raiser, she was very upset that she wouldn't be able to enjoy camp, and was getting ready to undergo chemotherapy and care at Children's Hospital LA.

Angie was born in jail to convict parents.  She was adopted by her aunt at three months and is the youngest of seven children.  They live in Palmdale which is over an hour away from the hospital.  Often, her family cannot even afford gas to go back and forth so they must avoid other commutes (i.e. school ) to save for those travels.

I have set up this fundraiser for Angie and her family and am asking all of my friends and family to please help me raise some money for them.  They are an amazingly positive and tight knit group who are all rooting for Angie to get better and get back to a normal life. I am hoping that whatever funds are raised, will help Angie's family at least a little, so that simple things such as groceries and gas are no longer something to worry about on a daily basis.

Everyday, I wake up and realize how fortunate I am to be alive and able to enjoy my family and this amazing life.  Seeing Angie and her family who are not as fortunate, I realize how a little bit of contribution from us can make such a big difference for them.  Just so you know, whatever money is raised here will 100% directly benefit Angie and her family.

Thank you so much!
