Who am I?
I Am Grace Nakimera from Uganda East Africa, I am the founder of FEED THE STREETS FOUNDATION. I am a humanitarian, a Christian mother to many. I have been doing charity for over 5 years.

Where you're from?
We are based in East Africa, Uganda, Kampala, katoogo, Kinawataka.

Your relationship to the parties you're raising funds for ?
To the homeless children am a mother, to the hungry mothers am a sister, to anyone who needs me in this community i am a prayer partner. But I am a friend and a shoulder to cry on.

I grew up in the ghetto my self, and my biggest challenge as 13 yr old girl was where to find my next meal. I remember I said a prayer one day with my rumbling empty tummy, I said God help me never sleep hungry and if you ever bless me. I will help others like me... so this is why I opened up a soup kitchen in katoogo, Kinawataka. In a place like this a simple plate of food can save a life.

I run the first ever charity soup kitchen in Uganda called FEED THE STREETS FOUNDATION in a ghetto called Katoogo, Kinawataka.

We open every Sunday and Wednesday. We hope when God blesses us using GO FUND ME will be able to open more days. We tell the gospel of JESUS CHRIST and we serve every after prayers. To both children and mothers. On a daily basis we feed 400 to 500 mothers and children.

The first ever soup kitchen in Uganda, East Africa.

It gives a helping hand to mothers and children born in the Kampala slums.

Living in the ghetto is so challenging, For example on our first visit to kinawataka we found a child by the names of Simon he didn't wanna get out of the road, he looked like he had given up on life at just 9 years old.
When we got close to him to find out more about him he said he had not eaten in days and he was homeless living in a box on the Rd side with no family he lost his mum and he has never met his dad. Right now Simon stays at our centre and a boy who could hardly smile is smiling now and he is super helpful and sweet.
Young girls are pushed to go into prostitution, boys will steal just to get a plate of food. So we provide free food, councilors, the gospel of Jesus Christ to give them hope.

How the funds will be used;
  • With £100,000 we will able to have our own food bank, buy farmland we will grow our own food and have food for every season.
  • At the moment we are renting a small place and our homeless children are living there, but with a £100,000 we will be able to build a proper shelter and our children will also have a place to call home.
  • We will be able to bring in experts to help with teaching mother's and the children skills that will help them self-sustain. For example; farming, baking, cooking, mechanical skills , hairdressing, beauty skills, soap production, vaseline production, music production, choir . etc
  • This can save a child's life by giving them a home providing food and a skill you are giving them hope for a better future.
  • We will be able to help struggling mothers/families in the ghettos start small businesses that can help sustain their homes.
  • We will get a bigger space and with that we will add rehabilitation club. We have lots of addicts that need help getting off drugs and addictions.

For the ones that seem to want more in life we pick them out and train them in a great skill that can help them throughout their lives. I pray you see this we need a helping hand to keep this place open.

How you plan to send the funds to the parties you're raising funds for or use the funds on their behalf?
We plan to Add on the investment we have already made. Feed the streets foundation soup kitchen has been open now for a while. So we plan to keep going in Jesus’s name. We can’t give up on our beautiful community we just can’t we need to keep feed the streets foundation soup kitchen open.

So with these funds we will have a safe place for these children to come to. It’s also very expensive to feed 400 to 500 people that’s 1000 people a week. We could not do it on our own. Thanks, God bless.

  • My Sister Mrs Nishita serunkuma, and daughter Miss maira Ringen Kalema both Uk residents. Came for a holiday to Uganda also passed by our center for a visit. They were both amazed by the work we do there. And they decided that on their return to the United Kingdom they will help FEED THE STREETS FOUNDATION open up a GO FUND ME fundraiser to keep the kitchen soup open. We loved the amazing idea because the support means a lot to us and it would make an amazing difference to our community.
  • Mrs Nishita Serunkuma my Sister is for the Transfer of the funds to Uganda. She will forward them to me Miss Grace Nakimera The Founder of FEED THE STREETS FOUNDATION
  • via world Remit services or a Ugandan bank account. Thanks to MRS Nishita Serunkuma And Miss Maira Ringen Kalema we have hope, and have very Good chance to keep going.
