Sonoma County Latino Fire Relief

Donation protected
Hello everyone,

Latino Service Providers hurts for what our beautiful Sonoma County is going through. Our Sonoma County community has been devastated by the wildfires. Many Latino families have been severely impacted by the fires, including Latino Service Providers staff.

Latino Service Providers is a 501(c)(3) tax exempt non-profit that has been in Sonoma County for over 28 years.  LSP consists of an informal group of community individuals and agencies uniting to educate and network with others to support the Latino community in health, education, and legal services as well as many other social services available in the County of Sonoma. Our mission is to build a healthier community by serving and strengthening Latino families and children, and reducing disparities related to ethnicity or race within Sonoma County.

There is a large Latino Community in Sonoma County, almost half of the Sonoma County public school students and the vast majority of the workforce at vineyards and other agricultural businesses are Latinos and many were left with nothing. During these hard times it is especially important that our Latino community who have been affected by the Sonoma County Wildfires have access to resources so that they too can overcome these difficult times.

With your donation, LSP will distribute the funds to the Latino Community.

Thank You,
Latino Service Providers

For GoFundMe:
Who you are and where you’re from.

Latino Service Providers was founded by Latino leaders in 1989, and formalized as a member organization in 1991, in response to helping Latinos in Sonoma County obtain knowledge and access to resources to enrich lives and help improve our communities. Our nonprofit organization is currently comprised of over 1,400 members from a broad spectrum of the community, including a diverse group of individuals, community-based organizations and local businesses. We come together to educate and network in support of the Latino community, to improve access to healthcare, mental health services, education, legal support and other social services available in our area.

Latino Service Providers (LSP) works with community partners to engage, collaborate, and exchange valuable information; to increase awareness of available resources, access to programs and services; to influence public policy, delivery of services, enhance inter-agency communication; and to promote professional development within the Latino population.

This donation fund was put together with the goal to raise money to then distribute to the Latino community that was affected in the wildfires who are not able to apply for certain resources due to their status.  In LSPs Newsletters we are constantly putting up resources for fire victims and other organizations that are helping the community.

How the funds will be spent (be specific as possible)

Everything that is donated through this GoFundMe will go towards the distribution of funds to the affected Latino families. We will put out an ad via our biweekly E-Newsletter so that our members can spread the word and can be referred to us. Then we will have them fill out an application and LSP staff will choose a number of families to distribute the donation in form of a check to the family. One member per household is allowed to apply and we will need to see some sort of document with their zip code to match the zip code of affected households by the fire.
