We didn't even know Sam was sick?? We got home from our Missions trip in the summer of 2017......the mission work we did was to go into Christian Camps and do construction work, repairs, and sometimes new construction, so he was in excellent health.......never been sick really! Sam has always been a giving person, even as a kid his mom said. Always doing for others! When we got home that summer he wanted to re-model our master bathroom. The homes here in Sun City Az had the wall hung toilets, and he did not like them, so he had to jack hammer the floor to put in a regular toilet. So besides the entire re-model, tile floor, tile shower, dry wall.......well, everything he did himself, so you can see how strong he was. He had a physical in Jan 2018 and the doctor said his prostate did not feel right. Went to a specialist and he did a biopsy. When we got the results back and it was Stage 4 already with Metastisis to the bones we were shocked. In the days waiting for results we figured it would be cancer, but nothing this serious!! We have been trying to do everything natural, except for radiation. We went to a Cancer Clinic in Mexico but I think the cancer was too far advanced. Now we are afraid to cross the border with all the unrest going on down there. We found a place in Scottsdale, Az that does natural methods along with conventional, without the patient getting sick or incapacitated. The only thing is......with alternative methods they are not covered by insurance! It is so sad that people can be good citizens their whole lives, try to do everything right and in a Godly manner, then when you need your insurance you can't use it in the way you want because the medical field does not recognize Alternative Medicine!! It took me a while to talk Sam into GofundMe, as he has always taken care of himself and his family without any help from anybody. After many conversations and a lot of prayer, and the want to live, he agreed. We have 2 daughters, 13 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren, and he'd like to be around for a while to enjoy them!! The cost seems astronomical to us, and by all means if our campaign takes in more money than we need, we will surely pay it forward to someone on Go Fund Me who has a medical need like us! Any help would be greatly appreciated no matter what the amount as we have depleted our savings account!
