Nos presento somos la familia Murguía y necesitamos tu ayuda pero más específico Yo.

Hola soy Dany Murguía, toda mi vida había sido una nena saludable, jamás había pisado un hospital por alguna situación, pero lamentablemente no sabía que en mi futuro, a la edad 18 años se me presentaría una enfermedad mortal, y esa enfermedad se llama leucemia. La leucemia es un cáncer que se produce en la médula ósea y se expande en toda la sangre atacando a las células que la regulan.

Cuando me lo detectaron estaba pasando por mi último grado de preparatoria, y a unos días de mi cumpleaños 18, entonces es ahí donde empezó esta aventura de saber que seguía para mi, durante el mes y medio siguiente al diagnóstico me la pasé en el hospital, pase por muchas quimios, transfusiones y complicaciones pero al final del día, la enfermedad cedió!

Las células cancerígenas y mis resultados de sangre estaban empezando a ser normales. Y sí! Acabé mi preparatoria y pude empezar a rehacer mi vida de nuevo libre del cáncer que se encontraba en mi cuerpo.

Pero esta enfermedad es como un contrato del cual no se podía salir fácilmente y en el cual hay letras pequeñas y en ellas se encontraba la cláusula de que en cualquier momento la enfermedad podría regresar.

Estaba tan emocionada de que durante 1 año y medio todo saliera perfecto en los estudios que olvide ese mínimo detalle. Las letras pequeñas.

Durante ese año y medio que estuve bien, hice muchísimas cosas, y logré entrar a la universidad, conocí a muchas personas, salí de viaje, comí todo lo que pude, solo que por tantas quimios tuve un efecto secundario muy fuerte, el cual es perder parte de tu movilidad y tener mucho dolor al realizar cualquier actividad, y en ese momento otra vez se empezaron a complicar las cosas y yo ya no me sentía bien como en ese año y medio, empecé a decaer y los dolores de cuerpo nos hacían correr al hospital de urgencia porque había veces que ya no reaccionaba de tan fuerte el dolor, la última vez con un dolor así fue hace 2 meses atrás a principios de julio que fue la última vez que corrimos de urgencia por un dolor tan intenso a nivel de médula, ahí fue que tanto mi familia como yo nos dimos cuenta que algo andaba muy mal, también los primeros estudios de ese mes, salieron lamentablemente positivos.

Exactamente recaí y el cáncer había vuelto más agresivo que nunca y era empezar tratamiento en ese instante, he estado en el hospital desde julio, ya llevo 2 meses y contando aquí pero la enfermedad no cedé. Ya se agotaron todas las opciones aquí en México, lamentablemente ya no hay tratamiento para mí acá en mi país y tendré viajar EUA ya que allá puedo tener una oportunidad más de vivir y así podré vencer al cáncer y poder obtener la cura definitiva para mi enfermedad.

Es por eso que hoy! Tú que estás leyendo esto, te invito a unirte a mi campaña de donación para poder ayudarme a cumplir uno de mis más grandes sueños y por ahora el único que es el hecho de poder tener una segunda vida. Y vencer al cáncer antes de que sea muy tarde.

Me gustaría decir qué hay tiempo pero la realidad es que ya no hay tiempo, estamos contrarreloj, pero con tu ayuda podré lograrlo.

Porqué esta causa es importante?

La causa de esta campaña de donación es para brindarle a nuestra hija una oportunidad de vivir y seguir con su tratamiento para combatir la leucemia que actualmente está activa en ella. Es importante mencionar que el tratamiento que se encuentra en los Estados Unidos es experimental, es decir, el procedimiento que se va a llevar a cabo con Dany, llamado CAR T-cells, todavía no se encuentra a nivel comercial. Por lo tanto, esto va a ayudar a recabar más información acerca de este nuevo procedimiento y que así se obtenga la autorización para que se pueda utilizar tanto en niños como en adolescentes en todo en mundo.

Cómo se usaran los fondos?

Los fondos recaudados se utilizarán para poder proceder con el tratamiento que recibirá Dany, este procedimiento se llama CAR T-cell therapy y en dado caso de que reaccione su cuerpo correctamente se procederá con el trasplante de médula.

En terapia CAR T-cell se toman muestras de la sangre de Dany, para obtener las células T, estas células se modifican en el laboratorio agregando un gen, llamado receptor de antígeno quimérico o CAR, que ayuda a que las células T se adhieran a un antígeno de célula cancerosa en específico. Luego, las células CAR T se devuelven al paciente. Dado que diferentes tipos de cáncer tienen diferentes antígenos, cada CAR está hecho para un antígeno de cáncer específico.

El proceso de la terapia de células T con CAR puede llevar de 4 a 8 semanas, sumando a esto el trasplante se realizaría una vez acabando este tratamiento y el tiempo de recuperación del trasplante es de aproximadamente de 3 a 4 semanas más.

Desafortunadamente, el tratamiento es muy caro y necesitamos mucha ayuda para poder pagar el tratamiento.

Cómo recibirá los fondos Dany?

Los fondos donados llegaran de primera mano y directamente a Dany, es decir, la campaña estará direccionada a una cuenta bancaria familiar, la cual estará registrada en el hospital para que el procedimiento siga su curso sin ningún tipo de retraso.

Cuándo comienzan los tratamientos?

El tiempo es un factor clave en esta situación, ya que, el último tratamiento que se podía llevar a cabo en México termina el lunes 26 de Septiembre del 2022, por lo que, este siguiente procedimiento se tendría que comenzar a más tardar 2 días después de la finalización de este. Ya que, durante esos 2 días entre cada tratamiento se ocuparán para el traslado de Dany desde el hospital aquí en México hacía el hospital en Estados Unidos.

During that year and a half that I was fine, I did a lot of things, and I managed to get into university, I met a lot of people, I went on trips, I ate everything I could, only that because of so many chemo I had a very strong side effect, which is lose part of your mobility and have a lot of pain when doing any activity, and at that moment things began to get complicated again and I no longer felt as well as in that year and a half, I began to decline and the body aches made us run to the emergency hospital because there were times when the pain no longer reacted so strongly, the last time with pain like this was 2 months ago at the beginning of July, which was the last time we ran to the emergency room due to such intense pain at the bone marrow, that's when both my family and I realized that something was very wrong, also the first studies of that month, were unfortunately positive.

Exactly, I relapsed and the cancer had become more aggressive than ever and I had to start treatment at that moment, I have been in the hospital since July, I have been here for 2 months and counting, but the disease did not subside. All the options here in Mexico have been exhausted, unfortunately there is no longer any treatment for me here in my country and I will have to travel to the USA since there I can have one more chance to live and thus I will be able to beat cancer and obtain the definitive cure for my illness.

Why is this cause important?

The cause of this donation campaign is to give our daughter a chance to live and continue her treatment to combat the leukemia that is currently active in her. It is important to mention that the treatment found in the United States is experimental, that is, the procedure that is going to be carried out with Dany, called CAR T-cells, is not yet commercially available. Therefore, this will help to gather more information about this new procedure and thus obtain authorization so that it can be used in both children and adolescents throughout the world.

How will the funds be used?

The funds raised will be used to proceed with the treatment that Dany will receive, this procedure is called CAR T-cell therapy and if her body reacts correctly, the bone marrow transplant will proceed.

In CAR T-cell therapy, samples of Dany's blood are taken, to obtain T cells, these cells are modified in the laboratory by adding a gene, called chimeric antigen receptor or CAR, that helps T cells adhere to a specific cancer cell antigen. The CAR T-cells are then returned to the patient. Since different types of cancer have different antigens, each CAR is made for a specific cancer antigen.

The process of CAR T cell therapy can take from 4 to 8 weeks, adding to this the transplant would be performed once this treatment is finished and the transplant recovery time is approximately 3 to 4 more weeks.

Unfortunately, this treatment is expensive and we need a lot of help to pay for this treatment.

How will Dany receive the funds?

The donated funds will arrive first-hand and directly to Dany, that is, the campaign will be directed to a family bank account, which will be registered in the hospital so that the procedure can continue without any delay.

When do the treatments start?
