Sandwiches With Love is a local grassroots organization that has been helping the homeless community in Oklahoma City since 2019. We are funded by donations and run by volunteers. Every week we pack up bags of groceries and distribute downtown to the homeless camps and people on the streets. We aim to feed around 75 people a week plus the animals. We prepare healthy sandwiches on whole grain or oat nut bread, shaved turkey breast from the deli, baby spinach and cheese with a homemade pickle! The bags also contain fruit, protein bars, beef jerky, chips, snacks, peanut butter, crackers, water, Gatorade etc.. we also provide dog food. In addition to food, we have helped people transition into housing and assisted in getting electric turned on, helped get animals to the vet, and taken people to 12 step meetings.
