Friends, Colleagues, Family of Janet Principe – Owner of OSM Delivery
As many of you have probably heard, Janet was recently diagnosed with advanced ovarian cancer during a routine gallbladder surgery on Nov 21st. One might think that it was caught ‘early’ since it was caught ‘accidently’ and before Janet experienced any noticeable symptoms. However, ovarian cancer is one of those cancers that is fast growing and spreads quickly, often with no symptoms in the early stages. It is a blessing that the cancer was found but is already suspected to be Stage III.
Janet traveled to MD Anderson in Houston, TX last week for a second opinion and treatment options. Pending final insurance approval, Janet will have her surgery at MD Anderson next week, on Dec 22nd. Local surgery in CO cannot be scheduled until early to mid January and with a fast moving cancer, this is not ideal. Surgery is the first step in Janet’s treatment plan, to be followed by 6 months of very intensive chemotherapy.
I know many of you have already reached out to Janet and offered her support, friendship, encouragement, and prayers. Without a doubt, that is all greatly appreciated and very much needed. However, Janet will be incurring significant expenses traveling to and from Houston for her surgery and treatment (for her and her Mother, who recently moved in with Janet from CA). In addition, there will be some recovery time and sick days in the future as she battles this aggressive disease. Janet needs to be able to focus all her energy on fighting and getting into remission and not worrying about finances. Therefore, we are setting up this Go Fund Me account to benefit Janet and offset some of her added expenses over this next year. If you are able to support Janet with any amount (no amount is too small!), please consider showing your love and support with a donation.
Many of you, like me, have been the recipient of Janet’s giving nature and always putting others first. She has met so many needs of her friends, coworkers, employees, customers, and family in the 30+ years that I have had the blessing of her friendship. She does this without being asked and out of the goodness of her heart, as she truly cares for others. This has played itself out in the way she has run her business and treats her employees and customers – OSM Delivery. OSM is a mainstay in the area; she has been serving the Western Slope of Colorado for 24 years, providing same day courier service between Glenwood Springs, Aspen, Grand Junction and Vail – all with the utmost integrity and commitment to customer service many of you reading this have benefited from. Janet has a heart for her community, whom she considers her friends and “family”.
Please consider what you might be able to do to help Janet and be a blessing during her fight with cancer. I daresay everyone reading this has been touched by cancer in some way – either personally yourself, or with a friend, family member, coworker, etc. Your support would mean so much to Janet and go a long way in having her family and community show their support and love during this difficult and challenging time.
