Casa Alto Refugio Solar Panel Project

Dear Family and Friends,

What a year it has been, but God is good. As the old chorus goes " Through it all, through it all I have learned to trust in Jesus, through it all." In the midst of the all uncertainties and difficulties we continue to press ahead and look for to the glorious return of our Lord and King. Meanwhile we "Occupy till He comes" ie we continue the work of His Kingdom.

In October, 3 of us traveled to our orphanage in Puebla, Mexico to visit the children and house parents. This is my 21st trip there, the second one without Anne. God provided Megan and Chuck as traveling companions. They were such a blessing. We served the children and house parents and try always to contribute to the upkeep and maintenance, and improvement of the property. With your help, we were able to make repairs and restore the laundry drying shed (over 1000sf) we helped build 4 years ago. They had 4 solar water tanks donated and we helped to have them installed. Also the 2 passenger vans were overdue for service and we sent it to a neighbor who is a car mechanic and did a major service. We were only charged for the parts. What a blessing to have favor with God with man.

I am writing this note with the hope that you can help us end 2021 well with another project . There was a donor that started 3 years ago to install a solar system for the entire complex. But after 6 months or so, abandoned it because of technical complications and lack of funding. However, when this solar system is up and running it will save about $600.00 plus a month in electricity bills. There is a possibility that they will have more than enough to share with the Christian school next to the orphanage where the children attend. This amount saved can pay the wages of 2 of the house parents serving or go towards the rising cost of living that the whole world is experiencing. The entire project cost is CDN $18,200.00 and will take about 2 months to complete. 25 solar panels are needed with all the other connectors, inverters,etc.

Each solar panel will cost about $725,00 to function.

I am writing and asking for your help with a year end gift towards this Solar Power Project. For Canadian donors all amounts donated will be issued a tax receipt in 2022. All donations made through this GoFundMe will be used for the Solar Panel Project at the Casa Alto Refugio Orphanage in Puebla, Mexico. You can help with any amount as the Lord leads. But, If you like to donate by the panels that will be great too. Praise God we have 5 panels covered already.

There are 30 children being cared and with the ever rising cost of everything, this will be a great help for them. May I remind us all of the only verse in the bible that actually defines what true religion is.

James 1:27 Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.
