Why the Shira.net Web Site Needs Your Help
The 9-year-old computer that I for managing Shira.net is dying, and needs to be replaced. The expense of buying a new computer and paying for upgrades to all the software is considerable. Some of the software I have used has been discontinued and I'll have to buy something new to replace it.
Web hosting fees for my site have doubled in recent years.
Some things on my site have quit working, due to changes made by third parties such as my hosting company. I may need to hire expertise to help repair these issues. Also, some of the technology on my site is old and creaky, and really needs to be updated.
How The Money Would be Used
$2,000 for a new Windows 10 Computer. 90% of what I use my laptop for is doing web site work
$1,900 for 3 years of subscription to the Adobe software that I use for managing the web site
$1,800 for 3 years of web hosting fees for Shira.net
$2,000 for hiring consulting services by a web developer to help modernize some aspects of the site and provide training to me in maintaining those changes

Shira.net is a one-woman show. I do all the labor for the site and pay all the expenses myself. For over 20 years, I've been giving the worldwide belly dance community free song translations, dance and business how-to's, history information, AND advertising via my teacher & performer directory.
