Urban Youth To Camp

MY STORY
I am a servant-leader, I enjoy helping people, and I believe this is my calling. I am Ryan Espina, a recent high school graduate, who serves/volunteers with El Camino Metro, a non-profit organization in the San Fernando Valley. My passion is to serve the youth of Los Angeles through health care. I have experienced first-hand how impactful this youth program is, as it has impacted my life.

I currently battle with patellar tendonitis, a condition that gives me excruciating knee pain. Additionally, I also face the pain of the brokenness within my family structure. But I am determined to not let pain be an excuse. That is why I am currently interning at the El Camino Metro. In this program, I have the awesome opportunity to plan youth events and help with leadership development. Our vision is to connect youth to purpose so that they positively impact their world.

AN OPPORTUNITY
This summer, as part of our Youth Mentoring Program, our hope is once again to take at least 150 youth, many of them are at-risk and impoverished, to Quaker Meadow Camp in Springville, California from August 6 through 9.
We want to provide scholarships for these disadvantaged students to attend. Would you consider being a sponsor for our youth by partnering with us? Our goal is to provide at least $5,000 in scholarships  that would help families facing financial hardship. Would you help us reach our goal? Your generosity can provide a life-changing experience to our students.

WHY IT MATTERS
This program not only gives students a memorable experience through the many physically and mentally-challenging activities that the camp offers, but it also provides the students with practical tools to overcome their limiting circumstances, as well as providing youth an outlet for emotional stress.

I would like to share the story of Amy, a first-generation student that came from an impoverished neighborhood. Because of the youth mentoring program, Amy was able to dream about her future and set educational goals. As part of the program she was able to go to camp. There, she realized her calling to be an architect. As a result, she was able to apply to a private university where she is now pursuing her degree in Architecture.

THANK YOU
Your partnership and support means the world to me and the families we serve. Thank you for considering supporting and being part of this eternal investment.

Forever grateful,

Ryan Espina
