We are Wayne and Keshia Hembrough, a family-run business located near Lacombe, Alberta.

Since 2017, we have been providing high-quality chicks to the people of Alberta, enabling them to raise their own meat, source their own eggs, and achieve greater self-sufficiency.

2025 has been a challenging year for many, and our business has not been immune to its difficulties. We have come to the realization that we may not be able to continue our operations without implementing some upgrades to our current chick housing, equipment and ordering systems. This season has witnessed barn failures, equipment malfunctions, and family struggles.

In response, we have recently purchased new incubators from the United States and installed a comprehensive commercial waterline in our barn, totalling approximately 35,000. However, we cannot complete the remaining upgrades on our own.

To continue our business, we require upgrades to our barn, chick brooder, and computer systems to enhance order management and efficiency. We have received quotes for these upgrades totalling approximately 35,000.

We genuinely want to be able to continue on and continue to grow and supply chicks to our current and all future customers. If our followers all donated just $10.00, we would be able to have these upgrades completed immediately and be ready to start our next season early 2026

We regret that it has come to this, but we have also been consistently informed of the immense appreciation that Alberta holds for our work. We feel compelled to continue producing the highest quality chicks and assisting individuals in pursuing their homesteading aspirations.
