With everyone who had done a love offering, we have been able to Purchase air tickets for the family. Purchase a 7- Seater vehicle. Purchase household goods and some appliances. And the balance will be for Alexus and Mya's school uniforms. There have been many other ways people have shown their love and support by giving homemade dinners, traveling to get their suitcases, helping them do their garage sale and also helping them move to Kay's mum's house for the interim. From today we have decided to decrease the fundraising amount from $300,000.00 to whatever we can get, we can get to pay for passports, and airfares for the family, especially comfort for Kay during travel. A family car will be ideal for them, once they get here too, for Kay to attend appointments and the family to do the day-to-day duties. Kay will NOT be traveling to America, as the doctors have said her body will not last for the duration of the flight. Kay will not be able to undergo the 24-week treatment that could have extended her timeframe. This fundraising page will now focus on getting Kay back to New Zealand, so she has access to all her medical needs. Please continue to pray for Kay, Shane and the family. Meitaki Maata Memz Kia Orana, Kia Ora G'day and Hello my name is Shane Blair, I pray that this important message reaches you all in good health and spirits, and pray that you read our journey. Jeremiah 30:17 we hear God say "I will restore your health, I will heal your wounds." To be honest some days it is a little bit hard to hear his voice in the middle of our crisis..... Please everyone, I need your urgent support to save the life of my loving wife of 14 years, and my best friend Petrina Kairangi (Kay) Blair. We have four beautiful children Alexus (15) Mya (12) Ma'lea (3) and Robbie (1 year old). 8 months ago our whole world changed when Kay was diagnosed with Stage 4 Autoimmune Hepatitis, meaning liver failure caused by a rare condition that makes the immune system attack the liver, with a life expectancy of 2 years in total where we only have 1 year 4 months left. As intense treatment has failed and the rare nature of her illness, she has been internationally referred for a 24-week treatment to save her life in America which cost over $250,000,00 and includes airfares, accommodation and the treatment. Additionally, this will also need to cover the cost of our day-to-day utilities in Australia and our children who will remain and be supported by our families, as I would like to accompany Kay to America. Kay is only 35 years old, my love is too young to leave this earth, and our children need their mother as I need my best friend. If you know Kay you know that she is all about family, and is always devoted to our children in every capacity. Kay is always a happy bubbly person, full of life with so much energy, always singing, laughing and creating memories with both our families. This normally is not the way we would like to ask for support from our families, friends and from god sent amazing strangers, but we are desperate as we are truly racing against time.
