Doug met with the Nephrologist yesterday and was told his kidney function was at 10%. So far, we had initially decided together with the Doctors to not proceed with dialysis in hopes of a living donor match sooner than later.  Yesterday, that all changed and the Doctor is saying he needs to start dialysis immediately.  We have run out of options because it is so urgent. They will be surgically implanting a "port" into Doug's neck/chest area, which actually is not the best case scenario, but the quickest healing method of delivery of dialysis.  This is not the option we would have chosen if we had a choice, it is prone to a lot of complications.  

Needless to say, Doug will be off work for a while during the healing process and because he has no short or long term disability, he will have no income to pay his bills.  We are humbly asking you for help for him to maintain his bills (vehicle, health insurance premium, Co-pays, Prescriptions, and any other medical expenses not covered by his insurance).  We are hoping to take one of his "stressors" away by doing this, since we all know stress can cause high blood pressure; and high blood pressure is a huge factor in kidney disease.
