Your Change can Change Allen's life

This is Allen. He is a 16-year old young man who is a sophomore in High School. Allen is a respectful and very well liked young man who is involved in many activities in high school. He has been involved in ROTC, soccer and currently is involved in track and cross-country. He takes accelerated and honors classes holding a 4.5 GPA.

The Backstory: Allen recently woke up with double vision. A visit to the eye doctor prompted a referral to a neurologist at Nemours a week later. The visit to the Neurologist resulted in an immediate referral to a neurosurgeon, being admitted into the hospital, and having an MRI. The MRI showed a 2cm tumor in the middle of his brain pressing on his optic nerve causing the double vision and other eye function problems. Two days and many tests later he had a biopsy of the tumor and a procedure to help relieve some pressure off of his optic nerve.  After a seven-day stay in the hospital Allen received the news that the tumor was malignant and he continues to have vision problems.

The Costs: As you can imagine the medical bills are astronomical and continue to grow with the prescribed treatment protocol of multi-night hospital stays every few weeks for chemotherapy, possible surgery to remove the excess tissue and then radiation. There are also travel expenses as well as unpaid leave from work for his parents.  Allen's mom, Lydia Roberson is the beneficiary of this campaign. She receives all funds donated and allocates the funds as appropriate to meet Allen's treatment needs.
