Young Voices of Neath raise funds for the Ukraine

"You're the voice try and understand it, make a noise and make it clear"
Just a few weeks after hearing that the Ukraine had been invaded by Russia, feeling frustrated and helpless that more needed to be done to help the Ukrainian people, I wanted to raise money to send to the families and children struggling to survive under constant threat, but had no idea where to start!
I am a singer and singing teacher and work with children in Schools in Neath Port Talbot, South Wales through the Music service Cerdd NPT Music.
Since lockdown in 2020, children have barely been able to sing together as a choir.
So, after not having sung together for 2 years, we gathered some of our talented and inspirational young singers in our local schools together, and decided that we could all help a little by raising voices, hearts and funds for the People of the Ukraine by singing together once again.
In just 3 and a half weeks - 60 singers, 6 string players, and a 4 piece band, had to learn their parts before everybody came together with a camera man and sound engineer to perform it for the first time in a school hall donated by Cwmtawe Community School.
The song we chose is John Farnham's ' You're the voice'. The entire team had one chance to perform together and get it right and our Welsh Children sang their hearts out for the children of Ukraine.
Please watch this astonishing video and share it as widely as you can, these children gave their time, passion and everything they had. If you can spare some time and money to help we would all be so grateful as would the children in the Ukraine.
Thank you for your generosity.
