Young Stroke Victim Fund

My best friend Jonathan Harquail has had a stroke during brain surgery to remove a tumour on his brain stem. During his surgery on July 24, 2018, while the doctors were cleaning out the old scar tissue is when he had the stroke. He is currently at Vancouver General Hospital.

Before this happened Jon was a very active 23 year old who loved to go out hiking, dancing, and explore the lower mainland on his time off. He was a full-time nurse at a Care Home for the elderly and he loved his career! He volunteered with me also with the Starlight Childrens Foundation and he was always the first person to enthusiastically sign up to volunteer!

Jon is honestly the kindest-hearted person I know and this stroke is having & will have a big impact on his life for years to come. He has an estimated recovery time of 2 years but he should be starting to get better slowly in 6 months.

Currently he can not move his left side and he is having a lot of difficulty talking. He now has problems with his eyes and is extremely fatigued. However, Jon is a survivor and we know he will get better! 

This Go Fund Me is to pay for his apartment for the next two years and help with other expenses. Jon's mother will be living with him when he eventually gets out of the hospital to take care of him, however, she is to move across the country to do so.  

I asked Jon what he needs and he said that his big concern is paying his rent. I am not in a position to help him and I would give him the world if I could. He really is an amazing person and he needs help that I can't give -- which is why I'm asking the world to help him. Any donation is truly appreciated.
