I am raising money to support Muheza Hospice in Tanzania. Muheza Hospice is linked with St Michael's Hospice in Hereford, which is a cause close to my heart as they looked after my sister at the end of life last year.
The money I raise will allow me to join 6 other young people who have also experienced bereavement as we visit the hospice in Muheza. Here we will work alongside the hospice staff to help some of the children there feel comforted in our shared experiences. We are also working towards planning a day out for the children associated with the hospice in Muheza.
I aim to raise £2000, a portion of which will go towards my travel and accommodation costs, the rest will go towards the hospice in Muheza.
I have signed up to do a half marathon in aid of this cause. Where I am now, I can barely run for 20 minutes; so unless I set a new world record time this might be slightly challenging! This is a huge personal challenge for me to take on and I hope that you will consider making a small donation towards this exciting project.
I have chosen the Hampton Court half marathon on the 17th February, separately this half marathon raises funds for the Princess Alice Hospice in Esher which cared for my uncle earlier this year.
I am looking forward to starting training for my half and I am hopeful that my unsporty legs will pull through.
Also, my amazing Dad will be running with me out of pity. Please spare £1 for him.
