Young Mom Fighting For Her Life

On May 13th, Serena Herring, 20, (Marion, IL & New Smyrna Beach, FL) was critically injured in a motorcycle accident. She is currently fighting for her life in St Louis University hospital.
Serena's family is asking for donations to help with childcare and travel expenses so that her family can be by her side during her long, road to recovery. Her mother, Jennifer Herring, had to quit her job to be by Jennifer’s side. So there are expenses there as well.
She has a brain injury but we do not know to what extent . She also has a broken neck, two broken legs and a broken arm, muscle and tissue damage on her broken arm, among other injuries.
Until the spinal surgery is done (scheduled for 2nd week of June) they can’t do an MRI to determine the extent of brain damage.
They have finally decided that she is responding to pain (which is s good sign).
She has but one good arm that was not injured. It’s the only thing we can hold to let her know we are here with her.
She woke up after 3 weeks but still has very little movement and cannot communicate. We hope it’s because of her vent/trach we we aren’t sure.
Anyone who knows Serena, knows she is a fighter. We want to give her the best chance possible. She has an 18 month old son, Elijah, who is her world.
We are setting up this Go Fund Me account so anyone who knows Serena, loves Serena, or who just wants to help, can contribute to help the family with these mounting expenses. We have no idea how long her road to recovery will be but we have all the hope in the world that she will make a full recovery.
