I'm an independent children's book author raising money to distribute my beloved book, You're Beautiful When, to Children's Advocacy Centers across the US. Each CAC serves as a place of healing for children who've suffered violence, neglect, and sexual abuse.
You're Beautiful When encourages positive body image and self-esteem. It teaches that beauty is something far deeper than meets the eye; it blossoms in your actions and your character and in simply being yourself. I can think of no better recipients for its loving message than the children of the CACs.
All donations (big and small) are equally and gratefully accepted. I'll print and distribute as many books as I can with whatever money we raise.
I didn't know it at the time, but I know it now: this book was made for them. In their beautiful hands, You're Beautiful When is exactly where it's meant to be. Every page an affirmation; every book a purpose fulfilled.
