81 MILES, 3 DAYS, 1 COUNTY

Hi! We are Owen,  Harrison
And Tom

Please Support and check in with our challenge we attempt to raise much needed funds for Age Concern by completing the Essex Way walk in 3 days, in a military tactical advance to battle in support of the veterans of our elderly community.

(Kildonan Dykes - Isle of Arran)

Last summer Owen completed
The 108km walk around the Isle of Arran for Age Concern and this year we are teaming up to walk the length of our home county, Essex.

Below are a collection of photos from last years challenge.

(Brodick Castle - Isle of Arran)

Last year the focus was on lonlines
In the elderly community and this year our focus is on veterans in our elderly
Community. With this year being such a huge year for our veterans celebrating 75 years since the end of WW2, 80 Years since the Battle of Britain and 80 years since the evacuation of Dunkirk.

Every year we loose more of  our beloved veterans, and this year seemed like an amazing year to let their memories and stories live on.

(The Northern Mountains - Isle of Arran)

As our veterans have walked across the world for us, we will walk across Essex for them.

(Goatfell - Isle of Arran)

Many of the elderly that depend on the services provided by Age Concern are defenders of this great nation, and the 3 of us want to do whatever we can to support them in their elderly years.

(Dougarie - Isle of Arran)

During this trying time Age Concern has suffered significantly, with the elderly and vulnerable at risk they have had to adapt to provide the best services they can. This has had a significant financial toll on the charity and we want to do our best to help them recover.

The 81 mile walk begins in Epping in the South west and ends 81 miles away in Harwich on the North East corner. We will document our journey and highlight the beautiful scenery and history as we navigate our way across this ancient county.
(Ferry Across the Fourth)

So that we can experience the difficulties faced by our brave veterans and service personnel we will be completing this gruelling challenge in military equipment. To pay homage and share a small part of their sacrifices and burdens is the greatest thank you we can give to them for their service.

(Deer In Lochranza - Isle of Arran)

We will arrange a date for the challenge once we have a better idea when the lockdown measures will be lifted.

By doing this challenge we also hope to encourage anyone of any age, from any background to get outdoors and enjoy its beauty
