My name is Kizza Lawrence. My country, Uganda, is beautiful, lush and green— but also full of poverty and suffering. My life changed the day I witnessed the casual death of a homeless child. I vowed to do my best to prevent such a tragedy from happening in front of me ever again.

I founded Mityana Holy Faith Orphanage. We are a registered CBO that not only takes in abandoned children, but provides food, clothing, medicine and access to education for impoverished families in Mityana, Uganda. We also support people impacted by AIDS, who can end up outcast and isolated. I have been joined by a dedicated staff of incredible volunteers who donate their time and salaries to feeding, clothing, and protecting the most vulnerable in our community. We are faith-based, and believe true Christian teachings compel us to care for those in greatest need. Our children's prayers reach out to your faith and compassion.

After years of effort, we have finally managed to purchase our own plot of land. This will allow us to become self sufficient. We will be able to raise and grow our own food. And the money we once spent on rent can go toward meeting the basic needs of the children.

We now hope to raise a total of $10,000 to build an orphanage and community center on our land. One person can make a difference, but it takes a village to create true change!
