One of the sweetest ladies in the world needs our help!
Why this campaign is an important one:
Andrea Hing has been diagnosed with inflammatory breast cancer and begins chemotherapy this September. There will be 4 treatments involved, not including a mastectomy of the left breast, followed by more chemo and radiation therapy.
The treatments will take place in Guyana and she needs $3 million Guyana dollars to cover everything - totalling around $19.5K CAD.
She's a friend, a mother, a grandmother, and just a wonderful, kind soul. Anything you can do to support is much appreciated by the family.
How the funds will be sent to Andrea:
Since Andrea is not very mobile, as per her request, all funds will be sent directly to her son Joseph Lee by Fareeda Mohan-Ram. Fareeda is her childhood friend and one of the three team members running this fundraiser. They grew up together in Guyana and even though they're in different countries today, they have still kept in close contact and treat each other like sisters.
Fareeda has set up a new chequing account with RBC to withdraw the funds from GoFundMe before e-transferring to Joseph. Joseph will be providing signed acknowledgements of amounts received in Guyana as well as all medical expenses. These funds will be released in coordination with treatments as they are scheduled.

Thank you for all your generous donations so far. Andrea started her first chemo treatment on September 23, 2020 and is scheduled for her second on October 14, 2020. As we can all imagine, this experience has been very jarring for Andrea and her family, but she's taking everything in stride and facing things head on! We appreciate all the support that's been sent her way.
