<div>My son Josh will be taking part in his fifth British Transplant Games in August - this year held in Oxford, and so I am raising money for the wonderful Alder Hey Children’s Kidney Fund who enable the Alder Hey Team to take part.

<div>Adults and children from different hospitals throughout the UK take part in the Transplant Games to raise awareness of the importance of organ donation and it is a fantastic atmosphere full of inspirational people.

<div>Alder Hey Renal Team have been amazing - we couldn’t have asked for a better team to have been looking after Josh!

<div>For those that don’t know Josh's story - he has been through a lot in his 10 years.
</div>

</div>
<div>Josh was born without functional kidneys and he went through life saving surgery while only a few days old which was followed by different forms of kidney dialysis for the next 4 years while he grew big and strong enough to be able to have a kidney transplant.
</div>

</div>
<div>Josh received my kidney in 2018 and he still has to have twice daily medication, lots of fluids and regular hospital visits, but his new kidney has been life changing for him.
</div>
<div><br />
</div>
<div>Josh has multiple other health challenges as well being autistic but he loves to compete at the transplant games, last year entering the sprint, long jump and children's obstacle course as well as entering the annual walk.
</div>

</div>
<div>I will be doing the Yorkshire 3 peaks challenge to raise money for the team this year, 24 miles and 3 mountains in 12 hours.  I'll be helped along by our family dog Winnie.
