As the holiday season approaches, our school community is once again coming together for our annual philanthropic endeavour. Each year, we partner with the Shuswap Family Centre to support a family in need, traditionally providing toys and gifts to help make their holiday merry and bright.
This year, however, a local family is facing a heartbreaking situation. Tragically, on Friday, November 22, a beloved father passed away, leaving behind his wife and three young children: a six-year-old girl (Gr.1), a ten-year-old boy (Gr. 5), and a twelve-year-old boy (Gr. 7). These children are classmates and close friends of several of Maple Tree’s graduates, and we believe it is our duty to extend our support during this difficult time.
In lieu of traditional gifts and toys, we would like to assist this family by helping them navigate the financial challenges that arise from taking time off work while still managing daily expenses.
To facilitate this, we have established a GoFundMe page with a goal of raising $2,000 for the family. This financial support will help ease the burden they are facing during what will undoubtedly be a challenging holiday season. We hope that our contributions will show this family how much they are supported and cared for within our community.
If you would like to contribute, please visit the GoFundMe page [insert link here]. Any amount, no matter how small, will make a difference and is greatly appreciated.
Thank you for your kindness and generosity. Together, we can help this family feel the warmth and care of our Montessori community during this trying time.
