Ylli Grubi is a 6 year old boy from Prishtina, Kosovo who suffers from 'Cerebral Palsy,' a disorder that Ylli has after an accident occured in Prishtina's hospital during labor.
Cerebral Palsy is considered a neurological disorder that affects muscles and a person’s ability to control them. Muscles can contract too much, too little, or all at the same time. Limbs can be stiff and forced into painful, awkward positions. Fluctuating muscle contractions can make limbs tremble, shake, or writhe.
As a result of his brain injury, Ylli is unable sit upright and walk as his right leg is unable to fully extend outward.
A Russian doctor in Belgrade, Serbia is willing to take on Ylli's case. The operation is a orthopedic surgery will be performed is going to extend the ligaments in his right leg and correct the uneven leg length. After the surgery, the doctor has stated that Ylli should be able to sit up right and with threapy treatments there is a possibility that Ylli will be able to walk.
We are seeking 7,000 dollars to cover the cost of the operation, all medical examinations that must be performed prior to the surgey. Any additional donations will be used to cover the expenses of the trip and put towards therapy treatments for Ylli.
