*UPDATE*
Happy new year to you!
We are recirculating the go fund me for my dad again. We thank God for the memories we were able to make last year and your support! It definitely helped my dad so much!
Recently, since the pain block wore off in November, my dad has had a bit of a rough journey. Most of December was either spent in the hospital due to pain and complications from trying to get a third pain block. Right after new year’s, he decided to try the pain block again. Although a recent scan has shown a some new spots of cancer on his liver, we are hoping this pain block will work like the one that was so amazing last year so that my dad will be able to enjoy more time spent out of the hospital with friends and family!
We ask that you please FORWARD / SHARE his go fund me page in order to raise support for this new year, new deductibles, and more hospital bills that are rolling in. If you have donated before, we do not expect you to donate, but just pass this page to anyone that is willing to donate. No donation is too small, and we appreciate even the smallest amounts!
Thank you for the donations, prayers, love and support all of you have already given to my dad! It means the world to us and makes this terrible process a little better! Please keep praying for healing, and for the pain to be gone so we can enjoy time together with Charlie!

Dear friends and family,

As many of you already know, my dad Charles Jenkins was diagnosed with adenocarcinoma cancer of the pancreas last year (December 2016). Right away, he made an appointment at MD Anderson in Houston to fight back against the painful tumor growing in his stomach. His oncologist put him on the most aggressive chemotherapy starting January 2017. We soon realized he would no longer be able to work once the chemotherapy began taking its toll. He barely had energy to get up out of his chair and lost 60 pounds. After 2 pain block injections in his spine, 4 trips to the ER and 2 week long stays in the hospital because of pain, infections, and dehydration, his oncologist finally made a change in his chemotherapy regimen so that his quality of life could improve and he could at least get out to enjoy life occasionally. He currently gets chemotherapy every other week and has some good and some bad days with the Chemo. The good news is that his tumor is stable & not growing! Yay! The other side of this story, though, is that because of the way his tumor is wrapped around 4 veins that go to his intestines, the doctors can’t operate on him unless it shrinks. He has had surgery to put a stent in his superior mesenteric vein because it was fully blocked, but the doctors can’t remove the tumor due to the extremely high risk of hemorrhaging to death during the surgery.

Based on the type of cancer my dad has and its location around the veins, his doctors say he has 1-2 years at best to live, but we are NOT giving up and he will fight until the very end! Our goal as a family is to spend as much quality time together as we can and make memories while my dad is healthy enough to still enjoy the life that God blesses him with daily.

Since Daddy can’t work anymore and has a terminal condition, he was able to get on disability, but his pay is significantly less. It’s now a struggle to pay medical bills and other obligations, which is starting to stress out my dad. We as a family, are asking you to help my Dad out of the kindness of your heart and Please share/forward to anyone you know that may be willing to help.

We thank you from the very bottom of our hearts for the prayers and support my dad and my family has received since the very beginning of this journey! Although our hearts are saddened, we are so thankful to still have more time for Dad to spend with friends and family on this beautiful Earth we share.

Hug your loved ones when you can, say I love you, and live each day like it’s your last. We love you all and we are so thankful!
