Help Adriana beat cancer!
Only a few weeks ago Adriana Barrantes; a mother, daughter, sister and our friend, was celebrating her son’s 15th birthday, traveling and attending soccer games. She was full of happiness and laughter doing what she loved most, spending time with family and friends. To look at this glowing and healthy woman, it seemed as though she had everything under control, and those who know her, also know that putting on that smile and being strong for her son was not something that came easily. Hard times and adversity is not something new to Adriana as she recently lost her mother to cancer. A divorcee and single mother of one, she was working to overcome her loss and provide a nice life for her son and herself.
When Adriana started feeling unusually weak a few weeks ago, she pushed it aside and moved forward. After all, someone has to pay the bills, put food on the table and a roof over their heads. But the tiredness continued to grow so she sought out medical advice. She was shocked when the Doctor told her she has leukemia, the most aggressive form, adult acute myeloid leukemia (AML). Chemotherapy was started right away and at some point a bone marrow transplant will be needed.
Adriana is not alone. She knows the love of God and has faith in His healing power. She is loved by her family and friends who are praying and doing their best to support her, but she needs additional financial support for medical expenses and to support her son. The road ahead will be a hard one but with your help she can focus on healing and not think about the work she is missing.
