Help for "Irma" the dog.

On Monday September 11th my neighbor Yaony, posted on our Triple Creek neighborhood page that he saw a stranded dog in the back of the sub and he needed help rescuing it. A number of neighbors came out to help. Rick R literally jumped in the swamp waters and waded over and tried to coax the dog to safety. "Irma" the dog wasn't having it. She was terrified and tired and had just lived though a hurricane the night before. We had brought treats and a lead to try to help. Matt showed up with a kayak to see if that would help, but it was swamp like land and water. But, Matt grabbed the treats and lead and jumped into the swamp to help Rick. Together, the two of them used the treats to coax, beg and finally just carry "Irma" to safety.
"Irma" is in our temporary care, until we can get her healthy enough to help her find her forever home. Irma is in pretty bad shape. She is probably 15# under weight, she is full of fleas and ticks, probably worms. But, her biggest problem is her eyes. They were almost glued shut with gunk when they brought her out of the swamp. We were able to get her to Care, Inc today and they said she probably has entrophion. It's where her eye lids are curled in, and her eyelashes are irritating her eyes. Another TC neighbor Jennifer, who is a vet was able to come over this afternoon and agreed that's probably what it is and showed us how to put some lubricating ointment in her eyes until we can gather the funds fit the needed surgery.
Now, here is where we need your help !! She needs to go to a vets office and get checked out and get her eye surgery scheduled asap. She also needs to be spayed. She is such a sweet sweet dog! And deserves a wonderful life and home. Please help us get that for this poor, exhausted, hurting baby girl.
