YIP13 International Learning Placements

Donation protected

To set out across the globe and learn from inspiring and ground-breaking initiatives, we, 21 young people, are looking for financial support.
10SEK = ca €1

Who we are:

The International Youth Initiative Program  (YIP) class of 2020/21, also known as YIP13.
YIP is a societal entrepreneurship training. It offers a holistic education program that expands global understanding and personal awareness. This year’s group, representing 13 different nationalities, consists of 21 young enthusiastic adults aged 18 to 28. The young writers, artists, dancers, food lovers, thinkers and contributors to a better future are studying in Ytterjärna, Sweden.

What Are We Involved In:

Between March and April 2021, each YIP participant will go on a four-week learning placement at destinations around the world. The participants together with their hosts engage in initiatives that will support the interests and learning of both parties. The challenge is to learn and work in a different social and cultural setting and to come into relationship with new paradigms.

Where The Money Goes:

The funds go towards securing the participants their meals, accommodation, transportation and general supplies for the activities that they engage in. Actually, the bulk of the cost is covered by YIP but as with every year it does not cover the full cost of the learning placements. Additionally €1,000 will be raised through other channels, and the rest will be crowdfunded, with your help. This year, the crowdfunding target is the smallest it has ever been; €2,500!

What's in it for you?

Where We Are Headed:

Open Source Arts in Leeds, UK

We all want to create and move towards a sustainable future.
That is what six of our participants intend to contribute to in Leeds, in the United Kingdom. Open Source Arts works with people and other organizations, using practical action projects and creative dialogue processes to bring people together and get things un-stuck.

Kufunda Learning Village- Zimbabwe

Five others will be travelling to Kufunda, in Zimbabwe. Kufunda is a learning village situated just south of Harare, where people are exploring what matters most to them. They have adopted practices that foster creativity and collaboration in community, and they have learned to work with what they have in a sustainable way. This means a lot of practical knowledge about eco-building, permaculture, bio-dynamic farming, renewable energy and more.
There is a lot to learn in Kufunda, but the yippies also hope to be able to teach, by helping out at Kufunda’s very own Waldorf-inspired school, and contributing in any other ways that they can.

SEKEM- Egypt

More information will be provided soon.

Damanhur- Italy

Seven of us will be travelling to the foothills of the Alps in Italy to a village called Damanhur. The Federation of Damanhur is an ecovillage and spiritual community that is home to over 600 people and aims to be, “a laboratory for experimenting with sustainable ways of living, in harmony with nature and its elements.” Damanhur is also home to an incredible subterranean cathedral, a mastery of art and architecture, called the Temples of Humankind. During our time there, we will be working with the land in the gardens, and with children in one of Damanhur’s schools while being immersed in the vibrancy of the community.

How you can help:

We believe that these activities can have a profound positive impact on future living. You have the opportunity to be a part of this. Join us.
We intend to keep you all informed on how the internships are going through podcasts, articles and vlogs.

Corona situation:

In these times of uncertainties, it is difficult to plan and to project the feasibility of undertaking such a voyage. We are taking this into account and are taking all the necessary precautions. However, we want to believe in the possibility of being able to travel.

In case of not having the possibility to travel at all, we will communicate the different options you will have rearding your finacial contribution.
