Emergency nurses week

Donation protected
Hi everyone. My name is Ashley and I am a night shift emergency room supervisor. I also worked in the very same ER before becoming a supervisor. October 10-16th is Emergency nurses week. Normally the hospital is able to provide gifts for our wonderful nurses during this week however this year my budget is $0. That means that in order to gift my extremely hard working nurses it will have to come from my own pocket. I wish I could afford to give them amazing gifts however I cannot. I have worked alongside these amazing nurses for years and they deserve so much more than I can give. The pandemic has been extremely hard. Not only are they chronically short staffed but they are also seeing their friends, families, and coworkers die from covid. Unfortunately, as ER nurses we are accustomed to death but not on the scale we are seeing now. My nurses are battered and broken and yet they still come in every day and even pick up extra to support each other. They all work so incredibly hard and they deserve a ginormous thank you. I can't do ginormous but I'm planning tote bags, coffee cups, badges reels, pens ect. I have 40 nurses and roughly 25 support staff of techs and paramedics. I believe my support staff also deserves to be recognized because they work just as hard as my nurses. I'm hoping this small gesture of appreciation can brighten their day just a little.
