Hello Community!
My name is Parker and I'm a senior at St. Edward's University located in Austin, Texas. As a photography major, I find inspiration all around me in colors, textures, landscapes, people, and culture, so it's no secret that I'm excited to immerse myself in the beauty of Ghana, Africa. At St. Edwards, students are encouraged to take on their world, and it is something that I intend to do. Originally from Liberia, my family and I immigrated to the United States in 2001, where I later grew up in Georgia and Massachusetts, and from there chose to attend college in Texas. As a first-generation college student, I want to complete my college experience in an unforgettable and meaningful way, by spending my last semester studying abroad in Ghana. This opportunity is very exciting and a full-circle moment for me, because I haven't been back to Africa since immigrating to the US.
As an artist, I’ve always been fascinated with the creative process, history, and the "why" behind one's motivation and cause. Studying abroad will not only allow me to create more, but will also allow me to take my next step in creating a more global network. In addition, I will be working with local nonprofits to support their mentorship, entrepreneurial, as well as educational programs.

This is how you can help support me. While my program costs are covered by my financial aid, I am still in need of the following:
Airfare
Immigration Requirements (Visa, Entry & Immunization Costs)
Books, Materials and Supplies
Transportation (i.e. bus fare)
Communication (i.e. International minutes)
