From the day Jay was born, he made people smile. His side smirk gave you a warning he was about to lighten your day. Kind loving soul always looking for the humor in the situation to ease the mood. They say the happiest people suffer the most from depression, I believe this now. It never mattered how he felt as long as you were smiling at him. Jay worked hard to make everyone proud of him, at his job, throughout his family and beside his friends. He battled through so many tragedies in our family, one after another. Death loss separation and life changing alteration, he never seemed to get a break. One night of drinking led him to a poor decision of driving, and he took another’s life. Absolutely horrifying disaster for all. Even with the beauty and life of his beloved kids and was soon to be amazing wife, he could not forgive his devastating actions. He was always quick to forgive any soul that wronged him, as we were to him, but you are the hardest on yourself. You are your own biggest critic in life. He didn’t believe he deserved anyone’s forgiveness especially his own.
In the early hours of Sunday March 22nd Jay silenced his long battling depression. May he rest in peace now.
With this tragedy, he leaves behind 3 amazing children who could not have or will ever again find a better father. One incredibly strong fiancé who went from planning a wedding in June to a planning a funeral in March during a pandemic. We know these are trying times for everyone, so we aren’t asking for a lot just a little support to ease Ocean and the kids burdens. Maybe some toilet paper? Ha ha just kidding, trying to remember Jays talent of humor enlightenment. In our day it was trust funds set up but with the way the world is right now I figured this was the best route to take. We thank you for all the texts, messages, calls, flowers, food and love sent our way. Best quarantined distant support group anyone could possibly ask for. COVID-19 has not stopped the love. We feel your love through virtual hugs, we do. Stay safe, stay healthy, don’t drink and drive and most importantly reach out to each other and let them know you care. Tomorrow isn’t promised it’s gifted ❤️
