Most of you may know I had bladder cancer last year. What I have not said was during that time, I received 1/2 Walmart pay. I was released to work in March of '18. Due to continuing pain, additional health problems, and depression, I was only able to work 2 days a week at best. I am having some kind of spinal or nerve problem that is not diagnosed yet. This caused me to stop work altogether in May. From about Feb - current, due to her health problems, JoAnn has been unable to work as well. We have been blessed to have a room mate that has been able to help financially to this time, but he cannot do it all himself. He is now having to move back home to help his own family with their health and financial problems.
The bank has started foreclosure procedures. This is the main reason I have started this campaign. I am seeing a lawyer for disability. We all know that will take many months and may still not work. JoAnn is on the job hunt now. We are doing our best, but I have to realize, our best is not going to get us out of this hole. I have had to make the decision to just take on the medical debt, there is no other choice, but cannot stop the foreclosure process without some payment. The bank needs about 2K for "lawyer fees". That's not counting the amount we are behind, another 2K approximately.
I have stopped all medications. No insurance. We have stopped the diagnosis progress into my spinal problems as well. I do have to keep some medical appointments for the cancer process, but that means a 300 mile round trip each time.
I have thought long and hard about the decision to open this. It is one of the hardest things I have ever done. I cannot see another option. We are stalling the process as much as possible, working with the bank, but without a miracle, we will be without a home within about 3-4 months at the very best. What I have explained here financially is only the very tip of the iceberg, I have not allowed myself to dip below the water to see how deep it really goes.
You are my dear friends and family. I should not ask for any more help than you already give, an ear to listen and a smile. It is with the utmost humility I ask for help. We cannot do it alone anymore. I pray that with enough hands helping together, we can turn this around. I thank each and every one of you that reads this, whether you donate or not.
